We continued our exploration of Salzburg, with our first stop at Mirabell Palace, one of the filming locations for 'The Sound of Music'. I can just imagine the children all singing around the fountain!
Even more fascinating is the interior of the palace,
where marble abounds!
The grounds boast lovely gardens and magnificent statues.
It evokes a time of serenity and peace.
We had to try a local specialty: Mozart Kkugeln Chocolate balls, filled with pistachio, marzipan, almond and hazelnut praline ...yumm
Our last stop was Domplatz-marienstatue
The interior courtyard boasts a catacomb
built right into the side of the mountain
All this walking makes for quite a hunger, so off to dinner we go...
We chose The Hotel Elefant
and were not disappointed with our fabulous meal
