Historic Vienna, Part Deux

Our afternoon took us into the heart of Vienna, exploring the main shopping area and awe inspiring Cathedrals.

We visited St. Steven's Cathedral,
with its beautiful interior basking light over all

A little further along in our travels, we happened upon St. Peter's......equally impressive!

Continuing along, there was a monument to thank the 'gods' for having stopped the Plague!
We even visited the 'most expensive building in Vienna',
 which was rich with marble.
With 15 km of walking already under our belt, we walked from our apartment, uphill, for more than 4 kms, up a path, leading to a 200 step stair case, to our final destination, a Heuriger.  It  was a small local vineyard that serves its latest wines, along with a hearty meal for only a few weeks each year.

Fabulous wines served in 'prison'
Once your wines are ordered, you go to the main house and select what you want to eat from the homemade offerings
....here is what we selected!

Spinach pie, and zucchini fritters

All delicious....
Walking back,we stopped for a final goodbye,
then walked down the mountain enjoying the views.

My body paid the price for all the walking, but it was worth it!!
