Jurby Festival & Harbour Delights

When we first started coming to the Isle of Man in 2009,  we attended the the first annual Jurby Festival, which was to become a legend.  It was very modest (and free) when it began, but now has a life of its own.  Over 4,000 motorcycles (as spectators, and that's not counting who comes by car), flood the gates to oogle what everyone else rode....
Here is a peek at the parking lot,
and that doesn't count the bikes that actually entered the show!
 Early 'Indians' were on display...

...as well as motorized bicycles from the early 1950's.

Love the picnic basket on the back!
There was something for everyone

As well as trophies from years gone by....
Cuppa tea anyone???
After the show we explore Gansey Bay, right around the corner from where we were staying....

 .....Port St Mary's Bay...

and her harbour....when the tide is out,
the boats have to balance on their keels

You can tell this is a working port.....

I have been rather negligent in my food porn lately...
...so time to eat with your eyes....

More racing coming up....

  1. I wouldn't want to be the first one to try to leave that parking lot! Looks a little chilly there, you're wearing a jacket ... not so here this weekend.

    1. Although it looked like chaos, the bikes were lined up in rows....so, it would not have been too bad getting out! Yup, it was a little chilly....sun was shining, so not too bad.
