Prague Castle, Part 2

While at Prague Castle, our next stop was The Old Royal Palace

The vast hall held many official ceremonies 

and has a very unique ceiling

3D replica of the complete castle and buildings

There was a fabulous view from one of the balconies

Here are a few of the other treasures we encountered!

One last stop was a room housing all the 'horrors' of the time

.....the torture chamber!

I think I much prefer the times we live in now!

At the end of a long day, we found a typical Czech restaurant showcasing local cuisine!

Lamb chops

Chicken stuffed with sun-dried tomatoes

Goulash with bread dumplings

A little local wine

Prague Castle, Part One

With so many places to visit in Prague, 

it was hard to narrow down what to see.

Without a doubt, Prague Castle is a must. 

One 'travel' item worth knowing, is that there are reduced fares for the extensive bus/subway/tram system, depending on your age....if you are over 70 (just saying) you can travel for free.  Based on your age, you can buy daily unlimited travel for as little as $3 a day!

The Palace, Cathedral and surrounding buildings are spectacular!

Better not mess with these 'gate keepers'

The grounds are free to visit, but you can buy tickets to visit the interior of many of the buildings.

We chose the Cathedral first.

I just adore stained glass windows!

We decided we needed a break, so sat down for a rest!
