On one of our non-race days, we took a drive up to
Port Soderick which was a tourist haven in the late 1800's. Sadly, today most of its former glory has been demolished, only leaving a beach and glen in which to walk. It still is a nice place to take a walk and think about all the people who enjoyed it over the centuries.

Walking along the beach I found this fascinating piece of 'beach art'
Next up was a visit to
Castletown which is on the southern coast of the island. It is home to
Castle Rushen, a medieval castle from the 1200's.
We were very lucky to be invited for dinner at our friend's Barbara and Eric, who own
West Lodge BnB, the place we stayed during our first visit in 2009

What a relaxing day and grande finale to top it off!
Looking a little cool there.
